Welcome to the new school year

Welcome to a new school year at the Classical Dance Studios. As is usual at this time of year, new classes are starting, especially for the young Pre-School children aged 3 and 4.  We are also offering spaces in other classes where they exist, for children aged 5 to 9.  Please be warned, though.  All of these vacancies are offered on a “first come first served” basis and the demand quickens as we grow nearer to the beginning of term.

Last year ended on a high note.  Our latest student to leave us to progress on to full-time training is 18 year old Evie Keiller.  She was awarded a place on the dance course at Falmouth University and was over the moon when she found that her A level results consisted of an A, 2 B’s and a C.  In her own words, she said that she was unbelievably happy and so are we !

As Evie leaves us, so we see the return of Louise Nicholas, who graduated from the same course at the end of July.  She has had a wonderful time there and is now, officially a holder of a BA Honours degree in Dance and Choreography.  She is keen to return to Bristol to live and is now job hunting in this part of the country.

So, here we go with our 39th year and the continued development of a school which attracts pupils from many different parts of the world.  We even have one class of 6 children which has only 1 British person in the room and that’s the teacher !  It all makes for an exciting and interesting environment in which to dance and we know that the skills learnt here are working to provide an international atmosphere.  After all, dance provides a means of expression which makes spoken language unnecessary.
